Instructions

1

Confirm the Code

Use an OBD-II scanner to read fault codes. Camshaft sensor codes are typically P0340–P0349.

2

Locate the Sensor

Refer to your vehicle's service manual. The camshaft position sensor is usually near the top of the engine, close to the timing cover or valve cover.

3

Disconnect the Battery

Disconnect the negative battery terminal before starting work to avoid electrical shorts.

4

Unplug the Connector

Press the release tab and unplug the electrical connector from the sensor.

5

Remove the Sensor

Unscrew the retaining bolt (typically 8mm or 10mm) and pull the sensor straight out.

6

Install New Sensor

Insert the new sensor, ensuring the O-ring is in place. Tighten the bolt snugly. Do not overtighten.

7

Reconnect & Clear Codes

Plug in the connector, reconnect the battery, and clear the fault codes with the OBD-II scanner. Test drive to verify the fix.
