Instructions
Prepare the Surface
Ensure the surface is clean, flat, and stable. Install cement backer board on floors for best adhesion.
Plan the Layout
Find the center of the room and dry-lay tiles to plan the pattern. Adjust so cut pieces at edges are even.
Mix and Apply Thin-Set
Mix thin-set mortar to peanut butter consistency. Spread with a notched trowel, working in small sections.
Set the Tiles
Press each tile firmly, twisting slightly for adhesion. Use spacers for consistent grout joints. Check level frequently.
Cut Border Tiles
Measure and cut tiles for edges using a tile saw. Wear safety glasses — ceramic shards are sharp.
Let Cure, Then Grout
Allow thin-set to cure 24 hours. Remove spacers, mix grout, and press into joints with a rubber float at a 45° angle.
Clean and Seal
Wipe off grout haze with a damp sponge before it sets. Once fully cured (72 hours), apply grout sealer.
