Instructions
Park Safely
Pull completely off the road on level ground. Turn on hazard lights, apply the parking brake, and place wheel chocks on the opposite tires.
Loosen the Lug Nuts
Before jacking, loosen each lug nut one half-turn counterclockwise using the lug wrench. Don't remove them yet.
Jack Up the Vehicle
Place the jack under the vehicle's jack point (check owner's manual). Raise until the flat tire is 6 inches off the ground.
Remove and Replace the Tire
Remove lug nuts completely and pull off the flat tire. Mount the spare, hand-tighten lug nuts in a star pattern.
Lower and Torque
Lower the vehicle until the tire touches the ground. Tighten lug nuts fully in a star pattern to the vehicle's spec (usually 80-100 ft-lbs).
Drive to a Shop
Temporary spares are limited to 50 mph / 50 miles. Get your flat repaired or replaced as soon as possible.
