Instructions
Warm Up the Engine
Run the engine for 2-3 minutes to warm the oil so it drains faster. Turn off and wait 10 minutes before touching anything hot.
Lift and Secure the Vehicle
Use a floor jack to raise the car and secure it on jack stands. Never work under a car supported only by a jack.
Drain the Old Oil
Place the drain pan under the drain plug. Remove the plug with a socket wrench and let oil fully drain. Replace the drain plug with a new washer.
Replace the Oil Filter
Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old filter. Rub a little new oil on the new filter's gasket before hand-tightening it.
Add New Oil
Remove the oil cap on top of the engine, insert a funnel, and add the correct amount and type of oil per your owner's manual.
Check for Leaks
Start the engine and let it idle for 1 minute. Check under the car for any oil drips. Check the oil level with the dipstick.
