Instructions
Measure and Cut Sheets
Score drywall with a utility knife along a straight edge, snap, then cut the back paper. Always cut drywall face-side up.
Hang the Sheets
Hang ceiling first, then walls. Drive screws every 12 inches into studs, keeping screws just below the surface without tearing paper.
Apply Corner Bead
Cut metal or vinyl corner bead to length and nail or crimp over all outside corners for a clean, durable edge.
First Coat — Tape
Apply a thin bed of compound over seams. Press drywall tape into compound and smooth out bubbles. Let dry completely.
Second Coat — Fill
Apply a wider coat of compound, feathering edges 4-6 inches. Fill all screw dimples. Let dry.
Third Coat — Finish
Apply final thin coat with a 12-inch knife, feathering out 10-12 inches for an invisible seam.
Sand Smooth
Sand with 120-grit once fully dry. Use a bright sidelight to check for imperfections. Prime before painting.
