Instructions

1

Safety First — Turn Off Power

Always turn off the circuit breaker before any electrical work. Test with a voltage tester to confirm no power is present.

2

Understand Wiring Colors

Black = hot, White = neutral, Green/Bare = ground. In older homes, wiring may differ — always test before touching.

3

Replace Outlets and Switches

Match the amperage of the new device to the old. Connect wires to matching screws: black to brass, white to silver, ground to green.

4

Install GFCI Outlets

Replace outlets in bathrooms, kitchens, garages, and outdoors with GFCI outlets. Connect LINE wires to LINE terminals.

5

Run New Wire

Use fish tape to run wire through walls. Staple NM cable every 4 feet and within 12 inches of each box.

6

Install Light Fixtures

Ensure the box is rated for the fixture weight. Connect matching wires and tuck neatly into the box before mounting.

7

Work on the Panel

Only work on the panel if the main breaker is off. Install breakers by snapping onto the bus bar and connecting the hot wire.
